Both of my daughter's teachers had requested for a art drying rack in their class. I spoke to them about it and also spoke to the owner about the type of drying rack they wanted. She sent me the link to the one she had used before from Lakeshore Learning and it turned out to be $50. I tried to search for similar ones but they turned out to be much more expensive.
With shipping (was estimating this to be around $10-15), this would exceed my budget by quite a bit as I had also wanted to get the teachers some giftcards as well. I was in a dilemma as to what to do. I decided to not do the gift cards and would just go ahead and get the drying rack and do some chocolates instead for the teachers.
I added the drying rack to the cart and decided to just do a quick search for any coupon codes. To my luck, I found 2 coupons - one for 20% off regular priced item and another for $15 off $50 regular-priced purchase. My cart was at $49.99. I added another small item for $1.19 and with coupon and shipping (which turned out to be $7.68), I only paid $43.86.
I was thrilled! I had saved $15 with just a 2 minute search and not only that, I could use this money for the gift cards for the teachers!
Lesson learned: When shopping online or in the store, take 2 minutes to do a quick search for coupons or coupon code. You might save more than you expect! And if not, you've only lost 2 minutes.
